How journalists promote themselves
What is a presentation website / digital portfolio? It is a website produced by a journalist to promote themselves and attract work. A showcase of your best work. It must showcase your journalism skills. It must showcase the type of journalism work you are best at. It must also showcase a good range of journalistic skills. It must demonstrate personal style and a professional attitude. It should include reflections on each performance to clarify why pieces are included in the portfolio. Both in-house and freelance journalists create a digital portfolio (professional website) It is a collection of work – print/ audio / audio-visual / photographic – that you have produced during this course and /or during work experience / outside of college.
Digital portfolio analysis Select one or more digital portfolios. Ideally select something that fits with the type of journalism you would like to create. Analyse at least one example of a digital portfolio identifying the codes and conventions. Creative cvs CV = Curriculum Vitae Called a Resume in some countries. You need to balance creativity with professionalism, whilst also pleasing both human and automated recruiters.
