RECOMMENDED LEVELS Above knee amputation: 12 cm above knee joint line Below knee amputation: 15 cm below knee joint line (ideally at the musculotendinous junction of gastrocnemius) Above elbow amputation: 20 cm below the acromion Below elbow amputation: 18 cm below the olecranon
