Night of the Long Knives Presented and Made by John Keogh

What it Was? This was a purge on important politicians that took place during Nazi Germany. Many murders took place due to it.

The Reason SA Hitler The SA had begun to viciously attack Jews and the amount of Independence they had began to worry Hitler. He was supposed to return them to their former military power because they were restricted to 100,000 men. Hitler saw their strength and turned on them. He knew they would jeopardise his German army and political strength. So began a purge on powerful politicians and SA leaders.

Targets Gregor Strasser Kurt von Schleicher Gustav Ritter von Kahr Beer Hall Putsch Important anti-NAZIS, and many SA leaders were killed.

This purge took place between June 30th-July 2nd 1934 When Was it? This purge took place between June 30th-July 2nd 1934 Although the executions of the four politicians took place in 1923

The reaction The German army were pleased with the Night of the Long Knives although two German generals were victims. Hitler named Victor Lutze the replacement SA leader.
