Design priorities Flexible to different subject areas / specialisms Recognising different ITT routes / expertise Principles, not prescription Built on robust research evidence and expert practice, applicable to different contexts (evidence-based practice model)

Flexible to different specialisms / contexts Design priorities Flexible to different specialisms / contexts Recognising different ITE routes / expertise Principles, not prescription Support, not assessment Evidence-based practice model Flexible to different subject areas / specialisms / contexts – inc pupils with SEND Recognising different ITT routes / expertise – complementing content learnt, revisit, greater depth Principles, not prescription Support, not assessment Built on robust research evidence and expert practice, applicable to different contexts (evidence-based practice model) No doubt you will think it isn’t perfect! Very different opinions… conflicting research… avoid being 40 pages long.

Sections High Expectations Adaptive Teaching How Pupils Learn Subject & Curriculum Classroom Practice Adaptive Teaching Assessment Managing Behaviour Professional Behaviours In order to ensure congruence with the 8 Teachers’ Standards, the content of the framework is presented in 8 sections. Professional behaviours particularly important, from our perspective – underpins everything. Criticality etc. Learn that… statements are informed by the best available educational research; references and further reading are provided below. Learn how to… statements are drawn from the wider evidence base including both academic research and additional guidance from expert practitioners. Designed NOT to look like an assessment framework. What should be covered in the curriculum, NOT what they should be assessed against. Includes wider reading – not designed to be comprehensive OR undisputed (cf professional behaviours). Wider reading designed to be both accessible and able to provoke thought and reflection. Learn that… and Learn how to… statements
