Setting the Stage (against him) He was the first of four children His parents lived on the poor side of boston though they were better off than there nieghbors Irish immigrants were strongly discriminated against at the time

Early Childhood His father instilled a work ethic in him early on. selling newspapers, working at a haberdasher's, and runnig errands for a bank are just a few examples of Jobs he did. He would even compete with his friends to see who could make the most in a week

Schooling He was placed in a public school when most Irish immigrants would have attended catholic schools because his father wanted him to have a good education He often tried to be social despite the racial prejudice

College He attended Harvard against the social norm of his race. Though he was barred from many clubs there by working hard and forming social ties slowly he managed to get into a few. He eventually graduated from Harvard and proceeded into the banking business

Joe’s Trump Card Joseph P. Kennedy’s most valueble asset was his work ethic His hard work got him through schools that discriminated against him. His determination helped him make social ties despite peoples stereotypes about Irish He wished his family to have a better life and he helped them have that for generations to come.
