1 Preliminary Research What is your research topic? Do some basic research – google is fine for this step!
2 Hypothesis Temporary – it can and often DOES change with new evidence Based on preliminary evidence
3 Research As you gather research, exam each of your sources for: Authenticity (forgery, tampering) Competence (was the author knowledgeable) Credibility (were they biased?) Bias TEXT PAGE 10 Summaries each type of bias
4 Thesis Reach a conclusion for your research based on all of the evidence you have gathered
5 The Report! In your essay (or other format of report), begin with the thesis statement, next provide your evidence in paragraph form with supporting details
