Agenda Welcome to Organizing RTI in Wikis Here’s what we are covering in this presentation: Our most Precious Resources Work Smarter, Not Harder Take a Look at Our Wiki Discussion-What would you like to see? Questions & Answers
Wiki in Plain English http://youtu.be/-dnL00TdmLY
Working Smarter with a Wiki As teachers, what are our most valuable resources ? Time, Communication, Collaboration It seems we are constantly being asked to put one more thing in our day-We don’t want implementing RTI to feel like that.
Time We can all appreciate how difficult it is to schedule everyone involved in a student’s individual achievement. General Education teacher Special Education Teacher Title One Teacher(s) RTI and Literacy Facilitators Administration
Communication Communication is the exchange of information between individuals. Having the opportunity to converse, pose a question and get an answer is some days a luxury!
Collaboration Collaboration is the act of working together with one or more people in order to achieve a common goal.
The RTI Wiki to the Rescue What if you create a Tool where each of the people involved in a student’s (or several students) can get together, in their own TIME, to converse, collaborate and share ideas. A place where you can pose a question, get help, and share what interventions are working?
Take a Look at our Wiki Please follow along as we share a developing Wiki with you. Remember, this is a place that you design to meet the needs of the professionals you are working with.
Questions & Answers Think about what types of information, resources and forms your school could use in a format such as this. What did you like? What didn’t you like?
How to… We have included here a link to help you get started.
Next Steps Over the next two days try out some of the tools we’ve shared with you here and think about how you can use them in your classroom with your students.
