Mr. Britten’s Math Class P1+P3 Advanced Math Homework due 11/08/18 Name _________________________ 1. Complete each double number line to represent the Target Objective of a collection of characters in a computer simulation. The goal of the simulation is to make as many different interactions (combinations) with other characters as possible. For each interaction between characters, 1 experience point is earned. After a given time frame, the person running the simulation checks the interactions between characters in real time in a table. The table shows 40% of their interactions goal and 100% of their interactions goal, however some values are missing due to a computer glitch. There are 100 characters in the game. There are other simulations running in the background with 150, 200 and 250 characters as well. In order to reach max number of interactions for 100 characters, you do (100x99)/2=4950. For the 150 character-simulation 11175 different interactions are maximally interactions. Complete the table with the missing values. Round up to the nearest whole. Simulation 100 150 200 250 40% 7960 12450 100% 4950 11175

3. Two students are throwing paper balls at eachother, while the teacher is constantly telling them to stop. Student A hits his target 75% of the time he throws a paper ball. Student B on the other hand hits his target 49 out of the 70 times he throws a paper ball. A). If student A throws a paper ball 400 times during a 90 minute class period. How many times will he hit Student B if student B is his target? B). Who has a higher paper ball throwing accuracy Student A or Student B? Explain your reasoning. C). The teacher catches Student A in the act and tells him for every time your paper ball hit student B you will write 27 full sentences. How many sentences will Student A have to write? 2. Determine the percent of each quantity a). 9% of 60 c). 2.5% of 3.14 b). 34% of 66 d). 16% of 600
