“What is salvation?”

“What is salvation?” Is the danger a big deal? Jesus chose to die an agonizing death on the death “Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?” (Matt. 26:53) The rulers scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!” (Luke 23:35) He could’ve spared himself, but he didn’t

“What is salvation?” What do we need to be saved from? God’s wrath (Rom. 1:18) Some examples of God’s wrath Examples of God’s wrath Sodom & Gomorrah (Gen. 19:24-28; Deut. 29:23) Israelites (Num. 14:28-35; Heb. 3:7-4:13; Psa. 95:7-11) Judah (2nd Chron. 36:15-21) Final judgment (2nd Thess. 1:5-10)

“What is salvation?” Christ is the only source of salvation He delivers us from the coming wrath (1st Thess. 1:10) He died so that we could be saved from God’s wrath (Rom. 5:1-11) He did this to provide the opportunity for sinners (1st Tim. 1:15) He is the source of salvation to all who obey him (Heb. 5:9)

“What is salvation?” There are requirements on our part Taught in the message of salvation (Acts 13:26) Many Jews rejected it (Acts 13:45-46) Word holds the power of salvation for believers (Rom. 1:16-17) Consequences (Rom. 2:6-8) Refuse to repent – store up wrath (Rom. 2:5) Saints repent and recover salvation (2nd Cor. 7:10)

“What is salvation?” If we neglect God’s salvation, how will we escape his wrath? (Heb. 2:1-4) Christ died to save us from God’s wrath God requires our belief and obedience “What shall we do?” (Acts 2:37) “Repent and be baptized” (Acts 2:38) Those who received his word were baptized (Acts 2:41) If you’ve given up your salvation, reclaim it by repenting (2nd Cor. 7:10)
