“Carolina” Drill (1v1) [How to use: click on “Slide Show” above. Next click on “From Beginning.” Finally use the "page up" and "page down" key on your keyboard.]

Carolina Drill (1v1) Balls at midfield with middies; As on one side of the crease; Ds on the other side A cuts away and receives pass from M. A goes 1v1; D defends. If A passes to M, then send another D Every time the ball is passed, send another D. Soon the offense gets the idea they want to beat the defender 1v1  Change-up: send one defender; next time send 2 (on the initial pass to A). Start to change this up so the A has to identify the situation every time.

Carolina “Add-On” Line of Offense (note: set this line anywhere you want in the OBox); line of Defense to side of 12m. The drill starts as a 1v1. If the player beats her defender in 5 seconds or if the D comes up with the ball, the play finishes as a 1v1 and the next attacker in line begins the next set. If the 1v1 isn’t successful (not completed in 5 seconds), then the O and D add another player, and play a 2v2. If the O beat D in 10 seconds or if the D comes up with the ball, the play finishes as a 2v2 and the next attackers in line begins the next set as a 2v2.
