Write down LT and SC Learning Target: We will identify and analyze the factors and impact of the Industrial Revolution Success Criteria: I will go back over the major facts about industrialization and how it impacted TX and U.S.

Warm-Up 1/17/17 Write and answer the following statement (YOU MUST WRITE ALL ANSWER CHOICES OUT, letter and answer) The introduction of interchangeable parts led directly to the - A. Industrial Revolution Industrialization- the development of industries in a country or region on a wide scale. Impact: Shift from agriculture society to manufacturing society, faster transportation and communication, mass production of goods and technological advancements

Impact of Boomtowns Boomtown- a town undergoing rapid growth due to sudden prosperity Impact: As the population increases so does business, employment, wealth and housing. Boomtowns brought more people to TX which allowed TX to grow as well.

Urbanization Urbanization- Moving from the rural (country) life to the urban (city) life. Impact: Allowed for people to leave the farms and become wealthy in the city. The population of cities increased which would eventually lead to overcrowding and pollution.

Boom/Bust Cycle Bust: Boom: Wage decrease Wage increases Supply/demand increase Easy to get loans Businesses make $ Unemployment decrease Bust: Wage decrease Supply/demand decrease Hard to get loans Businesses lose $ Unemployment increases

Invention not mentioned Canals: Transportation Created for shipping products from one point to another Eventually for transportation of people Towns/cities are built next to canals for easy access
