Issues for preparation and implementation of training sessions ODF for Crew Training Issues for preparation and implementation of training sessions Norbert Illmer MSM-AT norbert.illmer@esa.int +49-2203-6001-333 03-March-2004 ESA ODF CB – 4 at ESTEC 3.-5.03.04 MSM-AT Input

Training Prep. Status Classroom lessons for Advanced Training are developed for System and Payload training using project documentation Demonstration Perfomance Lessons are partially developed using Operations Manuals as available 03-March-2004 ESA ODF CB – 4 at ESTEC 3.-5.03.04 MSM-AT Input

Training Prep. Status (cont.) Increment Specific Training Preparation for ATV at full speed (all others projects hampered by missing ops products) Some low profile Simulations already foreseen in 2004 03-March-2004 ESA ODF CB – 4 at ESTEC 3.-5.03.04 MSM-AT Input

Issues related to ODF Need dates for Ops products have been addressed already in the Ops Product WG and Ops IPT without a solution. For D/P Lesson development ops manual is now no longer helpful. ODF input needed to improve quality of lessons. 03-March-2004 ESA ODF CB – 4 at ESTEC 3.-5.03.04 MSM-AT Input

Proposed Solution for 1E Define Milestones L-months will not work for 1E Training Use a production schedule based on fixed dates (e.g. preliminary ESA ODF in October 2004) and go for a publication of whatever is available then. This is a prerequisite for improvement of training products. Go for baseline publication 9 months later I.e. July 2005 (this ensures timely availability for training as foreseeable today) Final publication is of course depending on actual launch date 03-March-2004 ESA ODF CB – 4 at ESTEC 3.-5.03.04 MSM-AT Input

ODF Validation Use in training sessions and simulations will trigger feedback and improve quality of ODF First Release of ODF does not have to be perfect but it is important to use real ODF a.s.a.p. 03-March-2004 ESA ODF CB – 4 at ESTEC 3.-5.03.04 MSM-AT Input

OpNom OpNom needed as the basis for common language for various ops products (including training material) Official Release only available for Columbus Systems, other projects are overdue ODF CB to review available inputs and release OpNom for all other projects at best also with a fixed milestone e.g. June 2004 in mind 03-March-2004 ESA ODF CB – 4 at ESTEC 3.-5.03.04 MSM-AT Input
