The Challenge A competition is held between two teams of three 60-kg members each. The teams will take turns climbing onto the cart and jumping off. They want to see whose cart of mass 120-kg will be moved fastest when propelling it with a jump.
Team A will start at the left end of the cart that is free to roll without friction, run to the right and jump off with a velocity of 10 m/s with respect to the cart. One member of team B will start at the left end of the cart, run to the right and jump off with a velocity of 10 m/s followed by the second and then the third member.
What is the final velocity of the cart? A 120-kg cart is at rest. Three 60-kg people run to the right and together jump off the cart at 10 m/s. What is the final velocity of the cart?
