District 5630 Foundation Grants www.rotary5630.org 2017 – 2018 District Grants

Rotary Foundation Mission To enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

District Grants Single “block” grant is given annually to the district for club and district projects Projects can be local or international Support specific or existing grant projects Grants administered by District 5630 Completed during current Rotary year

Example Backpack Program for kids $300 Club cash fundraising project $500 DDF (district designated funds) $800 Project Total

Example Fish farm in Guatemala $1000 Club cash fundraising project $ 250 Contribution Club 123 $ 250 Contribution Club xyz $ 500 DDF (district designated funds) $2000 Project Total

District Grant Requirements Rotarian participation Alignment with Foundation’s mission Club cash (encouraged, not required) Receipts uploaded to matchinggrants.org Annual Requirements Club MOU uploaded at matchinggrants.org Current IRS 990 status uploaded, matchinggrants.org Grant application training, provided at Spring District Assembly Some contribution to Annual Fund

District Grant Deadlines May 15, 2017 – Club uploads proposed project at matchinggrants.org. June 12 – District completes review of projects. (Unused funds distributed at discretion of district.) July 1 – District submits spending plan to RI. August 1 – District sends grant checks to clubs May 15, 2018 - Project must be complete, receipts uploaded to matchinggrants.org.
