III. Stayed He stayed on the cross until He died Mark 15:25 – 37 - 6 hours v. 31 “save thyself, and come down from the cross” “If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.” Mt. 27:40

Why did he Stay on The Cross? His great love for us He knew God’s plan He knew he had to taste death for every man – Heb. 2:9 He knew his blood would purchase the church – Acts 20:28

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

IV. Returned He returned to Heaven “So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.” Mark 16:19 “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.” Acts 1:9 “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:” Heb.9:24

IV. Returned “And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom,” Daniel 7:14a “He always lives to make intercession for them” Hebrews 7:25
