Guiding Question #2: What do beginning teachers need from principals?

From a beginning teacher: "I'm just wondering how am I doing? Am I doing what is expected? Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing? My principal rarely says anything to me, and I'm thinking, ‘Am I doing a good job, or are you just not saying something?" -- Terrika, urban teacher  (Stanulis, Fallona and Pearson, 2002)
