PRESENTATION TOPICS Attendees will learn to: Conduct a needs assessment in your school Creatively teach/reteach PBS expectations to faculty, students, parents and community Collaborate with community in order to gain support for school-wide PBS program

GOALS To determine parents’ understanding of school-wide PBS program To involve parents and local businesses in our school PBS program To develop connections between school, parents, and community To create fundraising opportunities for our school’s PBS program

OVERVIEW OF PBS PBS IS…. A collaborative assessment-based approach to developing effective interventions for problem behavior. Emphasizes the use of proactive, educative, and reinforcement-based strategies to achieve meaningful and durable behavior and lifestyle outcomes Aims to build an effective environment in which positive behavior is more effective than problem behavior For all students

NEEDS ASSESSMENT PBS Parent Survey was designed to gain parent feedback and offer them a voice in the PBS process. Determined strengths and areas of improvement for our school Limited to one distribution during Spring semester (paper/pencil)
