Instruments – Bunker Wall interfaces Dawid Patrzalek Preliminary version – minor changes might take place before the CDR www.europeanspallationsource.se 18 May, 2019

Type of interfaces Neutron Guides – Bunker’s Wall Feed-through interface Neutron Guides – Bunker’s Upstream Supports interface Instrument’s Utilities – Bunker’s Utilities Feed-through interface

Neutron Guides – Bunker’s Wall Feed-through interface Neutron Guides – Bunker’s Wall Feed-through interfaces must be updated. Status on 2018-10-16: Instrument/Beam port Integration status W1: NMX OK W2: BEER To be updated W3: C-SPEC W4: BIFROST W5: MIRACLES W6: MAGIC W7: T-REX W8: HEIMDAL Instrument/Beam port Integration status W11: TBL To be updated N7: LOKI N5: FREIA E2: ESTIA E3: SKADI E7: VESPA S2: ODIN S3: DREAM

Neutron Guides – Bunker’s Wall Feed-through interface Neutron Guides – Bunker’s Wall Feed-through interfaces must be updated. Instrument teams are required to: Provide updated Neutron Guide model Provide updated feed-through envelope, keeping in mind: Wall blocks positioning accuracy of +/- 30 mm Shimming Alignment Etc. All requirements and the newest information can be found on the Confluence page:

Neutron Guides – Bunker’s Upstream Supports interface The Bunker Team was requested to design instrument supports, upstream of the Bunker Wall. Gabor Laszlo would like to integrate an additional plate on top of supports, which would allow to perform adjustment in XZ plane – development is ongoing at Gabor’s side. From mechanical point of view upstream supports have been approved, thus no further development is needed.

Instrument’s Utilities – Bunker’s Utilities Feed-through interface Instrument’s Utilities – Bunker’s Utilities Feed-through interface must be implemented. Status on 2018-10-16: Design of utilities is ongoing at ESS’s side (by Talal Osman) From mechanical point of view utilities feed-through have been approved, thus no further development is needed.
