PART I: GRAMMAR THERE IS/ ARE + N + prep. + place THERE IS/ ARE IS USUALLY USED WHEN WE WANT TO DESCRIBE SOME PLACES AND THINGS INSIDE. THERE IS/ ARE + N + prep. + place Eg.: There is a book on the table. There are some students in the class. There is little milk in the bottle. There are many people in the room. Note: Sometimes we use there is with more than one single thing. There is a book, a pen and an umbrella on the desk.
