Overview Small Group Discussions Round 1 Round 2 Wrap-up

Round 1 What types of sources or information did Graber and Twilly use to support their conversation? What were primary sources? Secondary sources? What seemed to be “reliable” sources? What made them so? In the podcast genre, how did Graber and Twilly incorporate their sources?

Round 2 What was the issue? What are the ethical considerations behind the issue? Who were the stakeholders? What was the discourse surrounding the issue? What narrative tools, structure, or sources, did Graber and Twilly use to discuss the issue? How did they present the different stakeholders? As hosts, do we know where they stand on the issue? Do you think is this important or not? Why?

Wrap-up Today we: Saw a non-essay example of bringing together different types of sources to address the discourse around an issue with ethical considerations Next time: Due: Second portion of Conducting Research (annotated bibliography OR primary research results) Reading: none Focus: Begin synthesizing research conversations

Short Response #4 What are the broader conversations that your research project engages in? How do your questions and your research contribute to those conversations? What are the ethical considerations involved in those conversations? In your work?
