On a notecard, write one word on the front and the definition with an example image/picture on the back. H.W. Read Dave Barry’s article on littering (p325). Then read 332-333 and decide whether Barry’s is low or high comedy.

Purpose To identify the physical traits of good comics. How do comedians use gestures to create humor?

Comedic Performance As you watch Jerry Seinfeld, pay attention to the following: Movements-- Gestures-- Facial Expressions-- Emphasis-- Take notes on how these elements add to his overall effect on his audience.
