Sweet gifts

When are sweet gifts given? In Slovakia we have some special celebrations and occasions we gifted each other with some cakes and sweets. Which are they? Birthday, Name day, Wedding party, whole Christmas time and a gingerbread in a shape of heart for Valentine´s day, the Easter, Saint Nicolaus day and Graduation ceremony.

Šuhajdy - Are made of cholocate and condensed sweeted milk and in the middle there are walnuts and chocolate lentils

Veterníky Veterníky are kind of doughs stuffed with cream or caramel.

Závin - Are pies and the stuffing could be poppies, walnuts, curds and cacao.

Krémeš is made of pie with vanilla cream and on the top there is chocolate.

Bublanina is made of sponge with different types of stewed or fresh fruits like strawberries, cherries, peaches, redberries, blueberries and other berries.

Dobošky Are made of lays of honey pastry and chocolate stuffing and on the top there is caramel or chocolate.

Medové rezy Are made of lays of honey pastry, jam and sweet white stuffing and some people use vanilla.

Metrový koláč Is made of sponge vanilla and chocolates pastry with rum stuffing .

Ovocné rezy Are made of sponge pastry, curds or vanilla stuffing, jelly and different fruits.
