Budget and Financial Management How to convince people to attend the workshop: Create a poster or flier with a picture and post it on social media (Facebook, twitter, Instagram and creating hashtags). Create a website offering all the detailed information Send an invite via email to relevant people I have met through networking. Use word of mouth. Targeted people: Youths  Couples planning on buying a house Individuals renting. Facilitators 

Budget and Financial Management. Online tools: PowerPoint which includes pictures and videos Get the 2016 Manitoba housing budget (download) Ms-excel Research about other provinces in Canada and other countries by comparing them.

Outline for a workshop Topic: Homelessness seen in families and youths in Canada  Learning Objectives:  Increasing access and funding for homelessness prevention /stabilization programs.

Workshop Outline Workshop length: 9am-1pm Arrival and registration: 8am Breakfast: 8:15-8:45am Workshop starts: 9am

Workshop Outline 9am-9:15am: Introduction and describing of learning objectives Setting agenda for the workshop, creating norms and a little of housekeeping. Learning objective: giving orientation to the participants. 9:20-9:30am: ice-breaker activity. Learning objective- To help participants familiarize with each other. 9:32-9:40am: Break (so, people can use washroom and get more food). Also, it will give facilitators time to divide up the sections and also setup. 

Workshop Outline 9:50-10am: session 1  Divide participants into groups to receive lecture on: Housing people who do not have a home  Helping people find and retain their homes Learning objectives: To know more and gain knowledge about the topic. 10am-10:05am: Break    10:10-10:50am: Interactive session such as case studies, small groups discussion and video watching about homelessness in Canada. Learning objectives: gaining more knowledge.

Workshop Outline 11:00-11:05am: Bring participants back together and remind them about housekeeping and directing them where to have lunch. 11:15-11:50am: Lunch Break.

Workshop Outline 12pm-1pm: Session 2 Participants receive lectures on: ways of raising funds, retaining, protecting and increasing the supply of Affordable Housing. Exploring off-reserve Aboriginal housing opportunities that can help augment current market options in collaboration with the Aboriginal community. Exploring opportunities to enhance/increase the supply of Affordable Housing by leveraging land, buildings and equity in the public portfolio 1pm-1:15pm: Open forum Learning objectives : time for questions, comments, reviews and evaluations. 1:15-1:30pm Dismissal (end of workshop).
