Creating Mandalas 3. List ten descriptions of what you are “not.”   1. List four things that you own that are deeply important to you. One of the items must be something which once belonged to someone else. Briefly describe why the items are important or what these items represent in your life. These items should be used in the mandala. 2. List ten words or short phrases which describe you or tell what you “are.” The list can include character traits or role descriptions. When the list is complete, eliminate the least important descriptions until only the three most important ones are left. Prioritize these three. These descriptions will become layers or sections. 3. List ten descriptions of what you are “not.” These are ideas that you reject about yourself. Eliminate the least objectionable until you have the three you reject most strongly. Prioritize the three. These rejected selves are important in “sun/shadow” mandalas.
