Staff Taking Part Mr Brown (Trip Leader) Mrs Williams (Trip Leader) Mr Batchelor Miss Baldwin Mrs Thompson (Lead First Aider) Mrs Jones (First Aider)

Safety The Centre is away from major roads. The boys and girls dormitories are separated. The centre staff all know the area very well. The instructors hold special certificates for the types of activities we’ll be doing. Where necessary, children will be provided with appropriate safety items (e.g. on the boats – life jackets will be given)

The centre Dormitory Dining Room

Dormitories Dormitories are basic but comfortable. They have an en-suite shower and toilet and bunk beds. A staff bedroom adjoins each room so the children can always contact a teacher should they need to. Please refer to the kit list as there is a new requirement that a single duvet and pillow case is provided. We have organised the sleeping arrangements based on responses for the children.

Food Food is cooked on site in the centre kitchen and all dietary requirements are taken into consideration. Children are involved in serving and clearing away. The food is very good quality. An example of the menu we’ll receive…

Example Menu Breakfast Cereal, porridge or grapefruit Cooked option such as bacon and beans PLUS: Toast with jam Fruit juice Tea Lunch Roll - cheese, ham, tuna Carton of fruit juice Piece of fruit Packet of crisps Chocolate biscuit Evening Meal: Starter – Tomato soup Main – Sausage and mash with gravy and carrots Vegetarian option – Veggie sausages and mash with fresh vegetables Dessert – Apple crumble and custard

Wednesday 15th: Arrive at school for 7 Wednesday 15th: Arrive at school for 7.45am What will you need with you?

Getting Ready : Wednesday Checklist! Arrive at school with your luggage and your rucksack at 7.45am Sign in with Mr Batchelor Give any spending money to Mr Brown Give any medicines and forms to Mrs Thompson Go to the toilet When your name is called, you and your parents can join the line to walk to the coach. Place your luggage in the coach, keep your rucksack, with your packed lunch in, with you.

Medicines. Mrs Thompson will be in the hall to collect any medicines and keep them safe until needed. It is important that any medication is within it’s expiry date, clearly labelled (with your child’s name and what the medication is for) and that it comes with clear instructions for use: dosage / times etc. Please make sure you have filled in the medicine sheet and let us know of any problems/needs. Inhalers and medicines that need to be easily accessible and used during the day will be with your child’s group leader at all times; others that are only had at bedtime or in the morning will be kept safely in the field centre. We will record each time your child has any medicine.

Travel arrangements. We hope the journey will take no more than 3 and a half hours and there will be a scheduled stop, near Thetford Forest, between 10.30 and 11.00. When we stop, the children will be able to get off the coach to stretch their legs and go to the toilet.

For the journey… Make sure your child brings a packed lunch in a disposable bag inside their rucksack. This can include a small bag of sweets but these are not for the journey or to be eaten on the coach. Please note, as we have children with allergies, we request that no peanut butter/Nutella/Snicker bars etc be packed for the coach. The children can bring books/ comics/ note-pads/top-trumps/magnetic travel games etc. to help keep them entertained … BUT REMEMBER NO mobile phones/ i-pod’s/gameboy’s/ PSP’s / MP3’s etc.

Any questions?
