Today: Explore our unit’s project Goals Focus Question Explore our unit’s project Learn more about issues affecting North Carolina Begin conducting research on our chosen topic What role can we personally play in using arguments to affect change? What are the major global environmental issues? What are some concerns in NC? What is your impact and responsibility as a citizen of the world? As a citizen of NC? What can be done to improve the current state of the environment on an individual level? On a organizational level? On a global level?

North Carolina NC is our home, and there is no better way to help our environment then to become aware of the issues that specifically affect where we live. 4/25/2017 Footer text here

About the Project You will choose an environmental issue that specifically affects North Carolina. (at least one article per person) You are to read reputable articles that cover this topic. You are to analyze each article using the graphic organizer provided. Attach the to the project. You will construct a Thesis Statement to argue that the issue needs action. This thesis should appear on your project. Using the information, you’ve gathered, you are to create a brochure that ARGUES FOR NATURE and answers the following questions: July 22, 2012 Footer text here

Inquiry 1) Problem: What is the problem in NC, how do we know it is a problem? What caused the problem? What is the evidence to prove this? 2) The Future/World: What are the possible future effects of the problem in NC? How will it affect the rest of the world now? In the future? 3) Current Solution: What is being done to solve the problem in NC? What is being done to solve the problem globally? Are there laws related to the topic in NC? In the world? (if so, state them) 4) Individual: What can an individual do to help? What organizations are available? How can we bring more awareness to this issue?
