doc.: IEEE 802.15-<doc#> <month year> doc.: IEEE 802.15-<doc#> Project: IEEE P802.15 Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) Submission Title: [Resolution for Channelization Comments CID# 627, 628, 631, 632, 634, 635, 636, 639, 640, 666] Date Submitted: [July 14, 2010] Source: [Kuor Hsin Chang] Company: [Elster Solutions] Address: [] Voice: [] E-Mail:[kuor-hsin.chang@us.elster.com] Re: [Comment Resolution for TG4g draft] Abstract: The presentation provides resolution for some channelization related comments Purpose: Presented to the 802.15.4g SUN Task Group for consideration and discussion Notice: This document has been prepared to assist the IEEE P802.15. It is offered as a basis for discussion and is not binding on the contributing individual(s) or organization(s). doc.: IEEE 802.15-<doc .....> <May,2009> doc.: IEEE 802.15-<doc .....> Outline Comments to be resolved: CID# 627, 628, 631, 632, 634, 635, 636, 639, 640, 666 Recommend Resolution Resolution Detail <author>, <company>

Comments & Recommend Resolution CID# 627: Comment: The value BandEdge is not defined for the standard defined PHY Recommend Resolution: Accept in principle CID# 628: Comment: The maximum value for NumChan is not defined for the standard defined PHY CID# 631: Comment: the value of Bandedge in each frequency band is not defined clearly

Comments & Recommend Resolution (Cont’d) CID# 632: Comment: Channel separation units is MHz??? It should likely be kHz? How large is the register? What is the granularity? Resolution: Withdraw CID# 634: Comment: For each standard-defined PHY mode and Frequency band, BandEdge and the number of channels shall be specified Recommend Resolution: Accept in principle CID# 635: Comment: Equation 1 is incomplete Slide 4

Comments & Recommend Resolution (Cont’d) CID# 636: Comment: (1) shall be clarified whether it should be "= BandEdge+(NumChan+0.5)*ChanSpacing" or "=CenterFreq(Ch. 0)+NumChan*ChanSpacing". Recommend Resolution: Accept in principle CID# 639: Comment: Channel numbering for OFDM is missing. CID# 640: Comment: Channel numbering needed for OFDM CID# 666: Comment: Channel numbering for the OFDM PHY is missing. Slide 5

Resolution Change the title of Clause 6.1.2.5a.3 to “Channel numbering for MRFSK PHY and MR-OFDM PHY” Change the text “where BandEdge is the start of the frequency band in MHz” to “where BandEdge is the start of the frequency band in MHz as shown in Table 1” on line 4 of page 23 Add “GL is guard band on the lower side of the band, GH is guard band on the higher side of the band” after “…in MHz” on line 4 of page 23. Replace equation (1) on line 9-10 of page 23 with the following equation and text: ChanCenterFreq = BandEdge + GL + (NumChan + ½) x ChanSpacing, NumChan=0,…, TotalNumChan-1 (1) For Japanese bands, GL is 0.9 MHz, GH is 0.5 MHz for 200 kHz and 600 kHz Channel Spacing and 0.7 MHz for 400 kHz Channel Spacing. For all other bands, both GL and GH are ChanSep/2. For 2.4 GHz band, GH is 5 MHz. TotalNumChan is the total number of channels for the available frequency band, TotalNumChan= floor( ) where W is the width of the available band in MHz. Slide 6
