Another Poem Question (PEE x 4) Another Poem(s) Question (PEE X 4) Identify a POINT that links to the question. Example Explain (2)
Example P- Both In the Snack Bar and Good Friday are about vulnerable men in society. E- In the snack bar is about a man who is “long blind, hunchback born, paralysed since birth.” Good Friday is about a man who has “had a wee drink”. E- They both show how society ignores such people whether it is because of their physical disability or their drunkenness.
Example P- Both depict an everyday observation in Glasgow. E- In the snack bar- “a few heads turn in the crowded evening snack-bar” Good Friday- “Three o'clock the bus lurches round into the sun” E- This suggests these are both everyday experiences that anyone could witness as they go about their daily lives.
Example P- Both poems are set in the present tense. In the snack Bar- “ a cup capsizes” Good Friday- “the bus lurches” E- This makes it seem like the action in both poems is taking place right in front of us which makes them interesting to read.
Example P- Both poems contain a religious meaning. E- In the snack Bar- “dear Christ to be born for this?” Good Friday- “whether Christ was crucified of was he rose fae the dead like” E- These make us question religion and its role in society. Does it make people act in a better way?
