Groups - Stakeholders Group 1 – Boat users in Tweed Heads Group 2 – Property owners in the Gold coast Group 3 – Local Government – Tweed Heads Group 4 – Local Government – Gold Coast Group 5 – State Government – Queensland Group 6 – Federal Government Group 7 – Local Environmental group – Gold Coast Group 8 – Local Business group – Tweed Heads

Lesson 1 Research the perspective of your particular group of stakeholders. This might include what problems they face, how changes would impact on them, costs, alternative strategies, why they support/object to the changes to the Tweed River. Prepare a 2 minute speech which explains the perspective of your stakeholder.

Lesson 2 Today you will be attending a community consultation meeting to discuss the problems facing Tweed Heads and the Gold Coast. 8 different groups of stakeholders will be presenting their point of view. In addition to this people may ask presenters questions about their view points. Of particular importance representatives of Local, State and Federal Governments will be attending to outline their responsibilities in relation to this issue.
