Welcome to Curriculum Design Workshop

"Really? Why do we need to design curriculum?"

So what's expected of me? If the JTEs do have a clear idea, then this makes things much easier because their expectations are much clearer. If the JTEs don't have a clear idea, then it's up to you to get that clear picture so you can get those expectations.

Getting and Setting Expectations Ask the JTEs What are your learning aims for the students to achieve by the end of the schoolyear? How can I best help you and the students to achieve those aims?

Types of Expectations University entrance examinations It's like planning and preparing for your own university entrance The main idea: meeting a standard Feedback takes up the bulk of your time The Key: Time spent on task Fun and motivation It's like planning a vacation The main idea: having a great experience Planning and preparation take up most of your time The Key: Student engagement

Planning Textbook? Focus? Extra- curricular activities? Is there one? How is it used? Focus? Culture? Common practical situations? Academic Standards? Vocabulary? Customs? Slang? Extra- curricular activities? English club?

"Can you give me an idea of what it looks like?"

"Let's try it out!"
