Superhero Newsletter Ms. Rodriguez October 30, 2017 Important Dates 11/2 – Quiz on mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers. 11/3 – Spiral Math Quiz and Diving Fractions Quiz 11/10 – Veteran’s Day program What are we doing in Math?? Standards for the Week 6.NS.A.1: Interpret and compute quotients of fractions, and solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem. 6.NS.B.4: Find the greatest common factor of two whole numbers less than or equal to 100 and the least common multiple of two whole numbers less than or equal to 12. This week we are focusing on converting mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers. The students are really struggling with and it is a skill we need in order to divide fractions. We will also continue dividing whole numbers by fractions, fractions by fractions, and mixed numbers by fractions. We will take a Spiral Math test every Friday.
