Child Accounting School Attendance/Child Accounting The Division of Subsidy Data and Administration collects attendance and membership data from Pennsylvania’s 500 school districts and other educational entities. The membership data is used in the calculation of state subsidies, including Basic Education Funding, Special Education Funding, Secondary Career and Technical Education Subsidy, and Tuition for Orphan’s Subsidy. Membership data is also used in the calculation of each school district’s tuition rate. Included on this website are forms and instructions for filing with PDE and for school recordkeeping as well as other information related to the data collection process and child accounting in general. Act 80 What is an Act 80 day? The purpose of the Act 80 provision of Section 1504 of the Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949 is for the school board to preplan activities for purposes deemed appropriate by the Secretary of Education with such teacher activities scheduled to occur instead of instructional time. Refer to Basic Education Circular 24 P.S. §15-1504 “Instructional Time and Act 80 Exceptions.” Requests for Act 80 exceptions should be completed by school districts and intermediate units and submitted prior to the date of the Act 80 activity, as soon as possible after the school board has approved the request. However, Act 80 requests will be considered for approval if submitted after the school year ends but before July 31. Safe Schools Reporting Safe Schools Office for Safe Schools coordinates school safety and security programs, collection of the annual school violence statistics, coordination of antiviolence efforts, and development of policies and strategies to combat school violence. The office supports and provides technical assistance and professional development programs in the following areas and security-related activities to support school safety: crisis intervention, school police training, violence prevention, and social/emotional wellness and safety provides services to all local school entities.
