The Kingdom Sermon He estimated the multitudes personal value as no one else could. He paid the enormous price of their redemption. J. A. Macdonald 2/17/2019

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.

John 6:28-29 Then they said to Him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him Whom He has sent.”

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:11 Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on My account.

John 15:10 Remember the word that I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will also keep yours.

Matthew 5:12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Acts 7:52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered,

John 16:2-3 They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor Me.

For Our Consideration What do you think the purpose of the Sermon on the Mount is? Where do you fit within the beatitudes? What do you have to do to be worthy of the Kingdom? What is the result of being in the Kingdom?

Prayer Focus Thank You Father for Your invitation into Jesus’ Kingdom. Thank You for Your grace, love, mercy and forgiveness. Thank You for Your Word and Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth.
