Standards Aware Course Review 1. The courses are very professionally done and easy to navigate. Voice dialog is provided with written dialog also available. 2. The IEEE is always noted as the “The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers”, which is now deprecated. 3. The course material is very internationally focused with global markets stressed. 4. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) are never mentioned. This might be pointed out as an opportunity for SES to expand its course material. 5. The Standards Development Process in course 104 discusses the process in a general way and covers its application in national and international context.
Standards Aware Course Review 6. In Part 4 of Course 107 dealing with Strategic Standardization, it is stated that in formulating positions on issues that relate to your company's strategic objectives, assure that your representatives present the company position and not a personal one. From an IEEE perspective this might better read that you should assure that your representatives are aware of you companies strategic objectives and positions, since IEEE members are individual members. 7. Recommend that the Copyright Aware course also be included. The IEEE has a vested interest in protecting copyrights and education about copyrights is appropriate. 8. Each of the courses provides, upon successful completion of an exam, a certificate for 0.100 credit hours, which should equate to a Professional Development Hour (PDH).
