Presentation transcript:

Tuesday 1/15/19 Bell Ringer: Why is it important to collect evidence when answering the scientific question “How does heat affect the motion of a liquid?”

How does heat affect the motion in a liquid? Testable Question How does heat affect the motion in a liquid?

Investigation Set up I will place a beaker of water on a hot plate. The beaker will contain poppy seeds. I will then turn on the hot plate to begin heating the water. The movement of the poppy seeds will show us the movement of the water as it is heated.

Data: Observe the location and movement of the poppy seeds at 0, 1, and minutes. Draw what you observed in the appropriate beakers on your lab sheet.

Lab Analysis Complete questions 6-9 Use complete sentences. Turn in lab report sheet when finished
