Comparison of the general terms Manufacturer 2014/34/EU Component Equipment Protective System Putting into service Manufactoring for own use Assembly Putting into service Manufactoring for own use Installation 99/92/EC Putting into service User

Example1: Emergency Shower for Ex (Cat. 2) Product consists of 2 parts: 1: Ex-Heating device - Supplier - Certificate 2: Metal construction Case A: Manufacturer buys a heating device from a supplier, build the metal construction, put the 2 parts together and place the product on the market under his name. Case B: User buys a heating device from a supplier, build the metal construction, put the 2 parts together and use it. Question: What is the correct conformity assessment procedure of the manufacturer and the user? What are the criteria? What is an installation?

Example 2: Heat Transfer Unit for Ex (Cat. 2) Product consists of more than 2 parts: 1: Ex-Heating device - Supplier - Certificate X other devices (panel, motor, pump) - Supplier - Certificate Metal construction Case A: Manufacturer buys ex-devices from suppliers, build the metal construction, put the parts together and place the product on the market under his name. Case B: User buys ex-device from suppliers, build the metal construction, put the parts together and use it. Question: What is the correct conformity assessment procedure of the manufacturer and the user? What are the criteria? What is an installation/facility/plant?
