CAREWELL An East Coast urgent care company that partners with hospitals to provide an “on-demand” entry point in their continuum of care Founded in 2012 and run by CEO Shaun Ginter, formerly the COO of Solantic (now CareSpot) 15 centers (14 in Massachusetts and 1 in Rhode Island) with plans to open 8 to 10 more centers in 2015 All are open from 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week CareWell’s goals are based on the belief that urgent care is part of a system of care, not an isolated island of care January 2014: Started a partnership with Lahey Health, a Massachusetts-based health system with five hospitals and more than a dozen outpatient centers; includes: Two-sided referral agreements / processes that refer patients to lower or higher levels of care Coordination and collaboration with Lahey Health to manage population health, costs, risk. Early 2015 announced a new partnership with UMass Memorial Health Care to develop three fully integrated locations.
