The Tropical Rainforest of Indonesia By Will

Introduction Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia, it can also be called the Republic of Indonesia. Indonesia has a lot of volcanoes, approximately 400, of which about 150 are active volcanoes. Indonesia has 75% of the earth's active volcanoes, this is because Indonesia is in the Ring of Fire. There are 251,160,124 people in Indonesia which is 10x Australia’s population. The island Java is home to 60% of Indonesia’s population. The city of Jakarta has 14 million people (14,000,000) which makes it the ninth largest (the amount of people) city in the world. Other Facts Indonesia’s most common sports are badminton, often winning gold medals in the olympics for it and another popular sport is soccer.

Climate and Weather Key- * -Degrees The climate in the Indonesian tropical rainforests is tropical. The temperatures in the tropical rainforests are different each month. The Bengal Tiger Other Facts The Bengal Tiger lives in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and China.They live in the habitats of Tropical Rainforest, Forest and Mangroves. They eat Boar, Antelope, Monkey, Pig, Bird and Elephant. They grow from 5ft to 10ft in length. They have 2 to 4 cubs and are pregnant for 3 to 4 months. Other Facts Kingdom:Animalia,Phylum:Chordata,Class:Mammalia,Order:Carnivora, family:Felidae,Genus:Panthera,Species:tigris.

Bromeliads Bromeliads are also known as Bromeliaceae. There are more than 2700 species of Bromeliads! The most well known Bromeliads, it comes in many colours bright red, orange, purple and blue. Bromeliads are air plants because they have the ability to absorb nutrients and moisture from the atmosphere.

Terrain The terrain of the tropical rainforests in Indonesia consists of three layers; Ground story (Roots, small Insects and foliage) then the Understory which has Animals, vines, trees and plants. Finally there is the canopy which has treetops and birds. The Rainforests are very beautiful in Indonesia the leaves are wet and really green there is also a lot of moss on the rocks.

Natural Disasters The Natural Disasters that occur in the Indonesian Tropical Rainforests are floods, droughts, in some places volcano eruptions, fires and mudslides. If a volcano erupts here the whole rainforest will be destroyed.
