Getting Along With Others

Why is getting along with others important? No matter where you go or what you do, you will always be working and dealing with people. If you can get along with others, you are more likely to be successful in whatever you do.

Tips for good relationships: Listen to what is being said when another person talks to you. Show an interest in what someone has to say. Try to understand his or her point of view. Say something positive if you agree with a person. If you don’t agree, say something that won’t cause an argument.

Make an effort! Identify a person’s mood Ask appropriate questions Give and receive compliments Make meaningful apologies Give constructive criticism

Nobody ever said it was EASY… It is sometimes REALLY hard to understand why people act the way they do.

Don’t combat a person’s anger with an angry response. Be the bigger person… Treat others the way you want to be treated. Don’t combat a person’s anger with an angry response.

A disagreement with someone is never worth losing a job or reputation. Remember… A disagreement with someone is never worth losing a job or reputation. Don’t let someone else be the reason for your troubles.
