Figure 1 Relationships of the sums of total antihypertensive drugs, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and calcium antagonists prescribed in money basis corrected for population in each region with the annual incidence of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in corresponding regions. The number of observations were 66, because the 11 regions were multiplied by 6 years. The sum of antihypertensive drugs was represented in Japanese yen per person per year.
