Unit 1 Fundamentals of IT LO4 – Understand employability and communication skills used in an IT environment 4.5 – Job Roles

Lesson Objectives You need to be able to know about the variety of job roles in IT industry For example: Network Manager IT Technician Programmer Web Designer Animator You need to understand the key skills for these roles, both technical and non technical You should have an understanding of skills required to be successful in that job role

Report Task You will research into different jobs roles. Use the examples from the objectives but also gather more roles. Create a report on the different IT job roles that includes: A clear job description Information on the tasks they carry out The skills they need (technical and non technical; think back to your personal attributes lesson for ideas on non-technical) TIP – Use job websites to help with looking at roles. They may give ideas on tasks the jobs involve and the kind of attributes that company might need.
