Kind of gestures

It means “Stopped” or “No”.

It interpreted as "loser", and generally given as a demeaning sign.

ILY sign combines the letters 'I', 'L', and 'Y‘ ILY sign combines the letters 'I', 'L', and 'Y‘. It is an informal expression of love.

It is commonly done upon meeting, greeting, parting, offering congratulations, expressing gratitude, or completing an agreement.

Air quotes are often used to express satire, sarcasm, irony or euphemism, and are analogous to scare quotes in print.

It was a symbol of unity and that benign spirits dwelt at its intersecting point—to wish on a cross was a figurative way of securing the wish at the intersection until it came true. Over the years, the custom was modified so one person could make a wish on his/her own.
