Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) The VSAT is a software-driven, small-dish, transportable, satellite terminal used for reliable connectivity. Used in conjunction with CAISI (Combat Service Support Automated Information Systems Interface), it permits the receipt and transmission of data and voice over internet protocol via the NIPRNET from anywhere in the world to anyplace in the world. VSAT provides forward deployed sustainment units a communication capability for sustainment automated systems that is substantially the same as in the garrison environment. Conduct High Personnel Demand Testing (HPDT): Carry VSAT Task: Transport a VSAT. You are required to transport VSAT cases to the operational location or assembly area. Condition: As a member of a 4-Soldier team, given a Combat Service Support (CSS) VSAT portable satellite system, ~80 pounds of uniform / personal protective equipment, and Technical Manual (TM) 11-5895-1817-10. Standards: As a member of a 4-Soldier team, lift / lower 4 vertical feet and transport 50 horizontal feet the Antenna Pedestal case. There is no time standard for this task.
