Tuesday, August 16, 2016 Learning Target: With some guidance and support from peers and adults, I will develop and strengthen my writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on how well purpose and audience have been addressed. Today’s Agenda: Playdough Writing

Writer’s Workshop– Playdough Writing Tuesday, August 16, 2016 Writer’s Workshop– Playdough Writing Purpose: We have a very important group of people who think they are the master sculptures of the universe. Using the playdough provided, you must impress this highly critical group with your mad sculpting skills. Audience: 3rd Graders Prize: Pictures will be submitted for voting. Maverick Money will be rewarded to the top team in each period. The top team overall will win 10,000 points for their class.

Writer’s Workshop– Playdough Writing Tuesday, August 16, 2016 Writer’s Workshop– Playdough Writing Without talking, think about what you may want to build. Discuss your ideas with your group. Make a decision about what to build and begin building it. Find one thing to change, one thing to get rid of, and one thing to keep. Continue adding to your creation. Share your sculpture with a neighboring group. They should make suggetions on what to do to make it better. You are not required to make the changes they suggest, but it is always good to have an extra set of eyes look over your work to make sure you’re not missing something important. Finalize your creation. Let’s take a walk and see what our classmates have created.
