Changing English Since the Second World War Theme of the unit in Chinese 本单元介绍科技与信息时代的英语。介绍英语作为世界科技语言、空中交通语言的特殊地位及其在世界娱乐业和信息高速公路中的地位。 Main Points of the unit The unit is titled Changing English Since the Second World War. The major topics are the features of scientific English and the English of international air traffic control, the role of English in world entertainment as well as applications of technology to ELT.

Changing English Since the Second World War Work should be done in your preview section: 1. Read the unit objectives before you start to work on the tasks. 2. Keep a diary of your learning, note down the difficult terms/concepts. 3. The concepts/terms you need to know are listed in the Self- reflection Report (which can be used as preview guidelines). 4. Get yourself ready for class discussion. 5. Read the “Activity Summary” carefully and write your own summary when you finish an activity / the unit.
