Game Breaks Active Online Safety
Presentation transcript:

Game-Based Online Safety! Activities developed by the eLIM EdTech team and SASP to teach Online Safety through game-based active fitness bursts Remember to include ‘Game breaks’

Year 1: I say how I feel when someone says something nice to me Year 2: I tell you how I feel when someone says something nice or not nice to me

https://youtu.be/0BhKYMan0aw

INSTRUCTIONS Select a few appropriate ‘Game breaks’ to include other online safety messages during the game. Practise actions for each of them with the class. Display the emoji collection. Individually, or as a group, decide on an action for each emoji. Encourage body movements as well as facial expressions. Display/hold up the first emoji card. Players start doing their action. After 10-30 seconds, display/hold up another randomly selected emoji card. Players must change to the new action as quickly as possible. Repeat. Gradually increase speed of change between emojis. Encourage players to consider how they feel when people make nice or not nice comments and how this relates to the different emojis Include ‘Game breaks’. When a game break is called everyone stops to do an appropriate action
