Do now: 4, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15 Take out H.W. and leave on desk. Calculate the M.A.D. of the following data (round to nearest hundredth). Record your answer on the sheet: 4, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15

Objective: I will be able to: Display numerical data in plots on a number line, including dot plots. Summarize numerical data sets in relation to their context, such as by: giving quantitative measures of center (mean) and variability (mean absolute deviation), as well as describing any overall pattern and any striking deviations from the overall pattern with reference to the context in which the data were gathered. So that I can learn how to: apply this knowledge to interpret the data and compute the Mean Absolute Deviation of a data set. I will show that I understood it by verbally discussing with my partners and then successfully writing the solutions to at least 1 real world problem for the group project with at least 80% accuracy. 6.SP. A.4 6.SP. A.5

Vocabulary: data point distance between data point Deviation mean, average mean absolute deviation (MAD) Dot plot

Mini-lesson pg. 64 18 * 7 = 126 126/7 =18 Mean: 18 The mean is 𝟏8 pounds. There is no variability. All of the data values are equal

Students will work in groups to complete the assigned problems from pages 67-75.

Today, you will be completing the assigned problems from lessons 10 or 11. You will work together to solve each problem on your pages, and then transfer the work neatly onto the chart paper. You will then participate in a gallery walk, in which you will spend about 3 minutes at each chart and evaluate the work of the other groups. Do you agree or disagree with their answers and why?

Problems to complete Group 1: pgs. 67-68 #5 (all)-6 Group 5: pg. 73 #7 and 8 Group 6: pg. 75 #2 Work together this is a PROJECT GRADE!

How do you feel? topic.

I can use my examples to help! Homework: April Vacation packet due Tuesday 4/23/19
