The parker inheritance by varian johnson Excellent mystery for fans of realistic/historical fiction Goes back and forth with time and characters from 1950’s to today. Past has a focus on racism/segregation while present deals with bullying, divorce, and other timely issues Candice and Brandon, both in middle school, spend one summer trying to solve a decades-old mystery that, if solved, could help not only them, but their community Excellent read for fans of The Westing Game as the book is referenced, and used to solve a decades-old mystery!

Moxie and the art of rule breaking erin dionne This mystery was inspired by the real mystery of the theft at the Isabella Stuart Gardner museum in Boston, MA on March 18, 1990---13 pieces of priceless art were stolen and are still missing to this day video Our protagonist is Moxie who just graduated from 8th grade. The mystery begins to unravel when a mysterious red head shows up at Moxie’s door…demanding to see Joe Burke (Moxie’s grandfather who has Alzheimer’s) Her message? Sully Cupcakes wants his items back…or else… To protect her family, Moxie enters into a dangerous search for the “items”, following clues that lead her all over her beloved city of Boston, complete with travels on the ‘T’, and visits to the museum, state house and even Fenway Park.
