AESO Update to PCC July 16, 2015

AESO July 2015 Update The AESO has published 20-year regional plans on its website Forecasting 2.4% overall load growth over the planning horizon, 3.5% in the oilsands region Currently developing 2015 Long-term Plan Exploring low growth scenario corresponding to diminished oil prices The two HVDC transmission lines are expected to be in service towards the end of 2015 Recent provincial climate change announcement will not affect reliability of the grid going forward. As we observed when SGER was first introduced, it is likely we may see an increased interest in wind, particularly starting in the 2020 timeframe when additional supply is expected to be needed in the market, and we will factor this into our future forecasting. We do not expect to see a significant impact to the pool price due to this change. We will watch for further developments on the Province’s climate change strategy and plan. We look forward to engaging with the government to support this work going forward. The in service date of the line is 2019 Deferring launch of Fort McMurray East competition Chapel Rock 500/240 kV Substation TFO preparing the facilities application Anticipated in service date is now 2018 WECC Path Rating process for Path 1 will be initiated later this year
