A Pause of Praise 1 Peter 2:9-10

Praise gets our focus off ourselves and back on God Praise gets our focus off ourselves and back on God. “Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness!” Psa. 150:2 Praise brings us to a place of humility. “Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” Psa. 95:2-3 3. Praise makes the enemy flee. …because of the people’s obedience to praise Him. “And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed (defeated)” 2 Chron. 20:22

Praise leaves no room for complaining . “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.” Psa. 103:2-4 Praise makes room for God’s blessings . “Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!” Psa. 100:4 Praise recognizes His presence. “He inhabits the praises of His people.” Psa. 22:3 7. Refreshed and renews our lives. "Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live, in Your name I will lift up my hands." Psa. 63:3-4

A Pause of Praise 1 Peter 2:9-10

1. Our Position in Christ kings priests Ephesians 2:17-18 2 Timothy 2:12  ”If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” priests Ephesians 2:17-18 “And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”

2. Our Privileges in Christ Israel had a priesthood, Christians are a priesthood. Believer–priests offer… …themselves Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”

2. Our Privileges in Christ Believer–priests offer… their substance Titus 3:14 “And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful.” their service Hebrews 13:16 “But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

2. Our Privileges in Christ Believer–priests offer… their song of praise Hebrews 13:14-15 “For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come.  Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.”

Titus 3:5 “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit”
